Dr. Afshin Akbarzadeh joined CRL at Boston Childrens’ Hospital in April 2018. He received his Ph.D. in 2012. His academic studies focused on image analysis for medical imaging systems such as CT, PET/CT and PET/MRI. Alongside his academic trajectory, Afshin has also served as a software engineer for a number of medical imaging industries. He has designed several data-acquisition and gantry control softwares for Cardiac SPECT, Fluorescent Molecular Tomography and Intraoperative Gamma Imager. At the CRL Afshin worked on modern atlas based segmentation algorithms for MRI images.
