Julien obtained an M.S. in 2000 in Physics Engineering from the Federal Polytechnic Institute of Lausanne and an M.S. in Business Information Systems in 2004 from the Business School of Lausanne, Switzerland. He completed his education with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 2006 at the University of Bern, Switzerland. Julien has worked for private firms as a software engineer and a consultant, mainly in the medical domain. He is now a research associate at the CRL on algorithmic issues in the domain of epilepsy research. He is also involved in a project devoted to the improvement of a planning software platform for implant positioning developed by the firm Symbios in collaboration with the Institute for Information and Communication Technologies of the University of Applied Sciences (http://www.hes-so.ch) located in Yverdon, Switzerland.
